To calculate the reported effectiveness for a patient view, the model first analyses whether it can be ascertained that the person writing the review has had direct experience of the treatment for themselves or a loved one. If so, it then uses sentiment analysis to rate their view from 1-5 on how effective this treatment was for them, with 1 being the least effective, and 5 the most effective.

Acupuncture has helped me immensely

Found little-to-no change in symptoms after several months of acupuncture. I had high hopes, and I can imagine it working for some people, but in my particular case, I didn’t notice much of a difference. The one benefit I did find was spending close to an hour in a sort of meditative state did leave me feeling relaxed and refreshed for a little while.

I did acupuncture for four months. It did not make any difference for me. In fact, because of the energy needed to go and come from the appointments, it gave me PEM.

It was the same for me. I had high hopes for acupuncture and kept it up regularly for 4 months. No noticeable difference so I gave it up.
What I have found notably helpful is an Osteopath. I have tried Osteopaths for other things in the past and they weren't helpful but for Long Covid I seemed to have noticeably more energy for a couple of days after each treatment. I am looking forward to trying it some more

I really wanted this to work. But it didn’t (even after multiple sessions & different practitioners). My insurance covers unlimited sessions with a $55 copay so it would been convenient despite getting there. It didn’t help even short term. I had worse sleep for the following 2 nights. I thought maybe it was because I was trying it while severe so I gave it another shot after improving to a moderate state from NS work & nueroplasticity, but still worsened sleep without noticeable help from other symptoms.

I have done 10 sessions of Acupuncture and although it didn't cure me by any means I really felt the calming effect on my nervous system. That resulted in better sleep, less feeling of fight/flight, better mood, less light/sound sensitivity. It did nothing for fatigue and PEM though.

I got pretty regular acupuncture + massage for a while. I had some general improvement at the same time, but I was also doing a LOT of other things, and never really felt any confidence in whether the acupuncture was helping or not. But oddly the laying and resting during it was the most difficult part for me, my muscles were so sore and crampy that lying there perfectly still (because movement = needle pain) in a position partially dictated by the placement of the needles was excruciating. I suffered through it for a while (stupid) till I finally spoke up and negotiated with my practitioner for a max 15 minute stew time. That was hard enough, but I could do it. So while I was "resting" it wasn't really restful...

It seems helpful I’m going to continue and watch the results. It is simple and has an impact and is proven for centuries to be helpful improving many conditions.

I went to acupuncture for four months, specifically for help with fatigue, and to improve my sleep. It made absolutely no difference. In fact, it increased my fatigue, because it caused PEM.
