Experiences

  • Patients appreciate its ability to stimulate the vagus nerve, which is linked to relaxation and better heart rate variability (HRV).
  • Some find it helpful for taking restful naps and breaks, leading to a sense of peaceful energy.
  • It is seen as a good complement to other practices like breathing exercises, meditation, and cold water therapy.
  • Patients report feeling calmer and happier after consistent use.

Challenges

  • Some patients experience side effects like jitteriness, tight chest, and tingling sensations.
  • Uncertainty about whether the device is effective or if improvements are placebo-related.
  • Initial settings may be too strong, causing discomfort and requiring adjustments.
  • Concerns about settings being too low to have any effect.

Tips

  • Start with lower settings and gradually increase to avoid discomfort.
  • Monitor heart rate variability (HRV) to track progress.
  • Combine with other practices like meditation and breathing exercises.
  • Be patient and consistent for better results.

Reported effectiveness
The average perceived effectiveness of the treatment amongst the patient views found for this page.

To calculate the reported effectiveness for a patient view, the model first analyses whether it can be ascertained that the person writing the review has had direct experience of the treatment for themselves or a loved one. If so, it then uses sentiment analysis to rate their view from 1-5 on how effective this treatment was for them, with 1 being the least effective, and 5 the most effective.

I have tried it in two forms. The first being a tens machine with an ear clip. I found that uncomfortable and not helpful. I moved to the Amofit S+ and I noticed a small improvement, but I believe that was a placebo and I was just naturally in a good place and noticing it. I couldn’t tell whether it was doing anything. I don’t believe I had any improvement to my symptoms, but I should try this again to be certain.

I have used it for the past months and it really helped me. I feel it's a very effective tool to stimulate the vagus nerve, and a good complement to other stuff like breathing, meditation, exercises, cold water... In the moment of using it, it helps me taking restful naps or breaks. After using it consistently I feel it gives me what I'd describe as peaceful energy (not stressful or jittery) and overall I feel happier and I think it's because I'm more regulated and my HRV is better. I had heard some LC doctors and patients talking about Nurosym and it made sense to me, I gave it a try and.. now I carry it with me all the time ^^ I swear I'm not being paid by them to promote it 😂

Yes no problem :)

At the start I was using nurosym twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening) for 30 minutes each time and on strength setting 15. I found this made me jittery, very tight chest, all over tingling sensation. I stopped for a couple of weeks as wasn’t sure what to do next but then contacted Nurosym and they told me to reduce everything. So I tried again with a 15 minute duration (twice a day) on a strength setting of 7 and it was fine. I increased gradually (by 1 strength setting and 1 minute every few days). I’m now on the original settings of 30 minutes twice a day and 15 strength setting with no problems. From what you’ve said I think you might be more sensitive than myself so could be better to start on lower durations and strengths and build up more slowly.

For myself the sweet spot was not feeling the symptoms I described after a minute or two. There’s also a worry that it could be too low re setting/duration to the point it’s not doing anything … but I saw my overnight HRV start going up and felt generally calmer in myself
