Reported effectiveness
The average perceived effectiveness of the treatment amongst the patient views found for this page.

To calculate the reported effectiveness for a patient view, the model first analyses whether it can be ascertained that the person writing the review has had direct experience of the treatment for themselves or a loved one. If so, it then uses sentiment analysis to rate their view from 1-5 on how effective this treatment was for them, with 1 being the least effective, and 5 the most effective.

Red light therapy has helped a lot for that.

redlightsonthebrain.blog, written by retired doctor Catherine Hamilton in Tasmania (who created a red light helmet) has lots of valuable information on red light therapy and its health benefits. 😊

Great but hard to administer and keep up with… also expensive… I got it over two years ago and it was difficult to use because I had to take 29 minutes per day to use it properly on top of working out.

I have used the Symbyx red light helmet and handheld PDCare device for about 6 months now. My constipation issues have cleared, I am sleeping better and I no longer have a tremor. I understand that this can be also due to the positive effects of daily, intense exercise and CL medication. Regardless, I plan to stick with this regimen.

I have used the Symbex PD Care Laser device for almost 2 years now. It has worked for the patient as their Parkinson's symptoms have been reduced to mostly tremor. The patient has posted on here before about their improved condition. Their neurologist has noted their improvement and stated last year, "I think you are doing better." Once the patient began using the device, they noticed that they were sleeping more soundly after about a month or two. Since then their bouts of intense fatigue disappeared after several months, their constipation is gone, and their balance problems are gone. Using the device is not like taking a pill, you will not see immediate results as it will take some time. The patient is also using the Symbyx Neuro Helmet for the last six months and noticed significant improvement to their mood. They have a much more positive outlook on life now. A placebo effect does not last two years, or even several months, so they do not attribute their improvement to that. Do your own research and make your own decision but photobiomodulation is working for the patient. (The patient is not affiliated with Symbyx Biome in any way, but is only a customer.)

I believe the red light therapy helps with motor symptoms and non motor symptoms. My motor symptoms were bad due to anxiety I think? After diagnosis and seeing the problems that PD can cause my mistake was fearing the worst. After doing some research on YouTube I discovered there were alternative therapies that could help. I chose red light therapy and I purchased a red light therapy helmet from a doctor in Australia and gave it a go and my symptoms improved. They now are companies producing red light helmets and red light therapeutic devices nasal and abdominal that may help. It is worth researching and if you like the idea give it a try. I believe red light therapy may help other neurological conditions?

I am participating in a Flinders University in South Australia year-long double-blind trial of light therapy units, both helmet type and handheld on the gut. Results should be available later this year.

My participation is nearing the end and seems to be having a positive effect – hopefully it is not the placebo effect!

There is so much research being done in photobiomodulation. (Near red light therapy). I have not found anything negative about the therapy.. PD studies are in the works, but nothing solid so far. The cranial helmets sound good, but there’s little or no actual proof of benefit, mostly anecdotal. I purchased a flexible band from Mito That helps repair wear and tear on my ankles from dystonia dyskinesia and restless leg syndrome. My experience is that it helps me. I haven’t splurged for the large panels or the helmet waiting for more data and saving $$. this is totally my opinion and experience. Would love to hear someone else’s take on the matter.
